2024
- Black Boys, Dolls, and Textual Histories: Alice Dunbar-Nelson’s “His Heart’s Desire” (1900), American Antiquarian Society program. 
- Denise Burgher, Brigitte Fielder, and Jean Lutes facilitated two in-person professional development sessions on “Including Early Black Women Intellectuals” (for Grades 6-12) at the Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia. These sessions, featuring archival materials and some of the videos from our website, were part of the district’s first in-person professional development event since the pandemic. 
- Denise Burgher and Brigitte Fielder facilitated two virtual professional development sessions on “Including Early Black Women Intellectuals” for the School District of Philadelphia. 
- Teaching Black History presentation, Center for K-12 Black History and Racial Literary, University of Buffalo. Conference theme: Black to the Future: Afro-futurism as Black History. 
- Roundtable on Recovering Early Black Women Writers for Children, Children’s Literature Association conference, Madison, WI. 
- Professional development sessions on including early Black women intellectuals for K-12 classroom teachers, School District of Philadelphia. 
- Speakers on “Gen Z and C19: Affirming Student Scholars” panel at C19: The Society of Nineteenth-Century Americanists conference in Pasadena, CA. 
- Jenine Hazlewood, “What were they made for? A Timeline of the Black Barbie Doll,” Africana Studies Lecture Series, School District of Philadelphia. 
- Faith in Florida’s Black History National Convening, Training, Orlando, FL 
- Modern Language Association Annual Meeting Recentering Black Women Intellectuals: A Philadelphia School District Collaboration, Roundtable Session

- Chicago Public Library virtual discussion of the ‘Steenth Street stories published in The Chicago Daily News – an event that inspired the Chicago library to print out hard copies of two stories to share with patrons!
